About This Position

Senior Secondary Operator

The Senior Secondary Operator performs secondary operations of precision parts in accordance with Swiss Automation, Inc. procedures. Maintains quality and safety standards, keeping records and maintaining equipment and supplies. Also maintains a clean and safe workstation.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Responsible for the deburring, washing, blasting of turned production.
  • Deburr machined parts using the drill press and other hand tools and equipment.
  • Obtain job assignments from supervisor/manager, determine tools needed to complete the job and ensure parts meet blueprint specifications.
  • Provide supervisor/manager samples of work for approval prior to submitting job assignment for completion.
  • Responsible for inspection of product utilizing a microscope and various types of gages.
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements and maintaining a clean and safe workstation.
  • Communication with supervisor, foreman, and other departments regarding the quality of job status.
  • Responsible for the operation of multiple jobs throughout the day and producing parts to customer specifications and Swiss Automation, Inc. standards.
  • Hold employees accountable and provide leadership to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Train personnel as required.
  • Address issues in a positive manner.
  • Performs other work-related activities as assigned by the line supervisor, supervisor, or foreman.

Position Requirements

  • Requires visual acuity (corrected) to read directions, interpret blueprints, and to inspect precision machined parts closely to ensure that they meet specifications.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery for precision work.
  • Requires physical ability to work requiring continuous bending, twisting, and stooping the entire shift and standing or sitting for long periods of time.
  • Physical strength to lift and carry up to 30-60lbs. frequently throughout the day.
  • Previous experience operating drill presses to deburr precision component parts.
  • Ability to work frequently with gloves and working with a microscope continuously with eye protection.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Effective time-management skills.
  • Can-do attitude.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Starting rate dependent on skill set.
