This role offers the opportunity to drive business growth by identifying, developing, and securing new client accounts for sustainability services. The position is highly client-facing, requiring strategic prospecting, needs analysis, and consultative sales to deliver impactful solutions that align with client objectives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to craft proposals, present tailored offerings, and manage the sales cycle from opportunity identification through contract closure. This position requires strong financial and business acumen, a deep understanding of sustainability and resource management, and the ability to cultivate long-term client relationships. Success in this role comes from balancing independent initiative with collaboration across internal teams to achieve ambitious sales targets. Frequent travel and remote work flexibility are key components of the position.
- Prospect, qualify, and develop new client accounts to achieve targeted sales goals
- Identify key decision-makers, budgets, and purchasing criteria for prospective clients
- Conduct presentations, opportunity assessments, and lead proposal development for new business
- Partner with internal resources, including solution engineers and delivery teams, to support client acquisition
- Maintain accurate forecasting and seamless handoff to client management following successful sales
- Stay informed on market trends, competitive activity, and emerging sustainability solutions
- Participate in events, client meetings, and off-site activities as required to generate new business
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience, preferably in energy services, sustainability, or resource management
- Strong background in sustainability, including Energy, Renewables, Waste, Water, and/or Carbon Accounting
- Knowledge of performance contracting, sustainability finance, and ROI analysis preferred
- Proven consultative selling, negotiation, and closing skills with a history of meeting/exceeding targets
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Solid financial and business acumen to identify value in new client partnerships
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of managing time, priorities, and client relationships
- Willingness to travel up to 60% and work flexible schedules as business needs require
