Position Overview
The Chief Instructor Pilot is responsible for the oversight, standardization, and regulatory compliance of all flight training conducted under Part 141 at KingSky Flight Academy.
The Chief Instructor will supervise instructors, ensure training quality, maintain FAA compliance, and support the continued expansion of KingSky’s training programs including PPL, Instrument, Commercial, Multi-Engine, ATP-CTP, and advanced jet training programs.

Required Experience
Minimum 5+ years of flight instruction experience
Strong preference for candidates with:
• Part 141 experience
• Check instructor or assistant chief instructor background
• Experience managing large instructor teams (20+ CFIs)
Certifications
• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate
• FAA Flight Instructor Certificate (CFI, CFII, MEI)
• Valid FAA First or Second Class Medical
Flight Experience
Recommended minimums:
• 2,500+ total flight hours
• 1,200+ hours dual instruction given
• 300+ multi-engine hours
These numbers signal serious instructional experience and credibility with instructors.
Candidate should be very comfortable with:
• 14 CFR Part 141
• FAA Order 8900.1
• TSA training requirements for foreign students
• Training course outlines (TCOs)
• FAA inspections and audits
This is important because at KingSky the Chief Instructor will interact with the FAA POI regularly.

Base Salary
• $100,000 – $140,000
Performance Bonus
$10,000 – $25,000 annually based on:
• student checkride pass rate
• safety metrics
• instructor retention
• training volume growth
Reports directly to:
Vice President of Operations / Director of Operations
KingSky Flight Academy
Supervises:
• Assistant Chief Instructors
• Check Instructors
• Flight Instructors
• Training Records staff (coordination)

Language Skills:
- Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
Physical Demands:
- Ability to fulfill office activities including but not limited to extended periods of time (i.e. while working at a desk), travel around the office, communicate with others (verbal and written).
Work Environment:
- Consistent with a standard office environment, noise level is low with little to no extraordinary environmental factors.
Full time position with random shifts that includes day, night and weekends.
