1st Shift Safe Launch Inspector at Blue Star Plastics – Lexington, Kentucky

Responsibilities

· Assist with operator training

· Understand and implement customer and Blue Star part quality standards

· Perform inspections and sorts per the quality plan

· Identify and isolate nonconforming material for rework/scrap

· Record defects and submit daily reports

· Perform layered audits of production lines and processes

· Perform housekeeping duties to keep the work area clean, neat, and orderly

· Comply with Safety procedures and guidelines at all times

· Participate in training classes when offered

· File paperwork accordingly in a timely manner

· Must participate in problem-solving

· Effectively communicate with Shift Supervisor, Operators, Auditors, Team Leaders, and members of Management

· Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

· Maintain a good attendance record

· Effective communicator

· Good organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities

· Basic math skills

· Attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions

· Able to visually inspect parts and see small details and defects

· Must be able to use Gauges and Calipers

· Willing to work overlapping shifts and occasional overtime

· Must work well with others

Physical Requirements

· May engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts and part containers.

· May be required to sit or stand for long periods.

· Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.
