INVENTORY ASSISTANT at Confidential Company – Pittstown, New Jersey

Job Summary

This position will work with the Inventory Manager to ensure all annual and perennial plant inventory is kept accurate; ensures that the availability dates are correct and that daily pick tickets are processed and given to the picking team in timely manner. Once fully trained, the Inventory Assistant will be assigned specific areas of the greenhouse facility and the plants within those areas to keep track of from start to finish.

Duties

• Responsible for managing the inventory, ready dates and availability for all crops in your assigned areas.
• Maintain open communication with the inventory manager on any updates, questions or concerns you have with the crops in your area.
• Track and record all crop movement and record any waste in the system from start to finish.
• Assist in preparing paperwork needed for picking.
• Work closely with sales team and ensure total transparency in communication between sales, inventory, shipping and picking teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong computer skills and adaptability are a requirement.
• Experience with greenhouse work and plant identification required
• Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.
• Bi-lingual a plus but not required.
• Team player with ability to work in fast paced environment.
• Ability to safely walk, bend and climb over obstacles around greenhouse facility
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions
• Flexible with regards to schedule, critical in peak season.
