We are seeking an HSE Specialist who will support the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental programs by promoting safe work practices, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting field operations across multiple basins.
This role works closely with field personnel, operations leadership, and HSE management to identify hazards, prevent incidents, and strengthen DCS’s safety culture. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in field environments while engaging employees in safe work practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Safety Support
- Provide direct field support regarding occupational HSE topics and safety leadership to assigned work groups.
- Identify and intervene to address unsafe behaviors among employees planning, performing, or supervising work.
- Conduct regular facility and field site inspections to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Support risk assessments, job safety analyses, and energy isolation (LOTO) requirements.
Safety Program Implementation
- Promote participation in the company’s Safe Work program and other HSE initiatives.
- Ensure employees understand and follow company HSE policies and procedures.
- Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and shift transition safety communications.
- Lead prevention efforts related to personnel safety, environmental protection, transportation, fire, and weather risks.
Incident Response and Investigation
- Respond to HSE incidents and unplanned events to control hazards and protect personnel.
- Support incident investigations and gather initial data.
- Prepare reports, documentation, and data entry related to incidents and corrective actions.
- Communicate incidents or safety concerns to HSE leadership and operations management.
Training and Employee Engagement
- Participate in new hire safety orientation and onboarding.
- Facilitate or support HSE training sessions.
- Coach field employees on safe work practices and promote continuous safety improvement.
- Motivate employees to maintain strong safety performance and accountability.
Driving Safety & Vehicle Monitoring
- Support the company’s safe driving program and promote responsible vehicle operation.
- Assist with dashcam monitoring and safety coaching as directed by HSE leadership.
- Reinforce safe driving expectations for employees operating company vehicles.
Compliance and Reporting
- Maintain the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) / Right-To-Know library in accordance with Hazard Communication requirements.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Prepare and distribute HSE reports and updates as required.
- Communicate safety concerns and findings through company reporting systems.
- Maintain accurate records related to inspections, incidents, and compliance activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Relevant safety certifications may substitute for degree requirements
- 3+ years of experience in health, safety, or environmental roles, preferably in oilfield services, chemical manufacturing, or industrial operations
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification preferred
- ASP (Associate Safety Professional) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) preferred
- HAZWOPER certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards
- Experience conducting incident investigations and hazard assessments
- Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel and leadership
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams)
- Ability to work independently in dynamic field environments
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Must possess active driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Employees in this position may operate company vehicles and must maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. Compliance with company vehicle safety policies, including dashcam monitoring and safe driving expectations, is required.
Travel Requirements
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time to field locations across operational basins
- Field visits may involve 3–5 day rotations in basin locations
Additional Information:
- Location: Marshall, TX
- Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm; work outside of business hours may be necessary based on business needs.
