Telecommunications Estimator

Position may be based in Gatineau or Montreal – 100% On-Site

Seguin Morris supports the construction, installation, maintenance, and dismantling of telecommunications infrastructure. We also provide antenna and cellular line calibration, 4G and 5G mobile technology services, shelter installation, fiber optic cabling, line sweeping, and more. Our experienced teams regularly work using helicopters and operate in remote and difficult-to-access locations.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Telecommunications Estimator with solid industry experience and a strong understanding of field operations. The ideal candidate brings professional maturity developed through hands-on exposure to construction environments and possesses strong knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, particularly telecom towers (construction, maintenance, and service).

The Estimator is responsible for analyzing plans and specifications, evaluating labor, equipment, and material costs, and preparing accurate and competitive estimates for telecommunications projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze plans, specifications, and bid documents to understand the full scope of work

  • Prepare cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors

  • Identify and assess technical and operational risks associated with projects

  • Collaborate with operations and project management teams to validate assumptions and costing

  • Request and analyze quotes from suppliers and subcontractors

  • Participate in site visits when required

  • Prepare bid submissions and cost summary documentation

Qualifications
  • 5 years or more of relevant estimating experience in the telecommunications industry

  • Strong knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, particularly telecommunications towers (construction, maintenance, and service)

  • Good understanding of field operations and construction environments

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

  • Proficiency with estimating tools such as Excel, B2W (Bid2Win), or equivalent

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage priorities

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple teams

Work Environment
  • Primarily office-based role with occasional site visits

  • Close collaboration with operations, engineering, and project management teams

  • Fast-paced environment focused on accuracy and performance
