JOB DESCRIPTION

Iron EagleX is seeking a Senior Principal AI Full Stack Software Engineer to support our AI team in Crystal City, VA. This role designs, deploys, and sustains critical components of our AI analytics stack including analytic frontends, production APIs, interfaces between AI workflow components, and the underlying data layer.

As a Senior Principal AI Full Stack Software Engineer, you will be a core member of the AI team driving the prototyping and delivery of critical data analytics capabilities.

JOB DUTIES (INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO)

• Develop clean, maintainable, and efficient Python code while adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Lead technical design and implementation of AI-enabled web applications and analytics experiences using Streamlit or similar technologies.
• Integrate modern AI/LLM capabilities into applications and workflows (e.g. prompting, tool calling, RAG patterns, etc.).
• Design, develop, and integrate APIs (e.g. FastAPI) for seamless communication between systems.
• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines and container-based deployments (e.g., Docker), supporting repeatable builds and reliable releases.
• Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL, ensuring data integrity and efficiency.
• Implement and maintain version control using Git to streamline collaboration and code management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
• Ensure all developed solutions meet the highest security and quality standards.
• Contribute to all stages of the software development life cycle (SDLC), from concept and design to testing and deployment.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Proficiency in writing clean, maintainable, and efficient Python code.
• Expertise in front-end development using Streamlit or similar technologies.
• Strong knowledge of web technologies, containerization, RESTful APIs and user interfaces.
• Experience with designing and maintaining scalable backend solutions using Python frameworks.
• Familiarity with database systems such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes experience is a plus.
• Understanding of MLOps concepts such as model registry/versioning, reproducible environments, and CI/CD for ML-enabled systems.
• Proficiency in implementing and maintaining version control using Git.
• Ability to work effectively both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on experience with Full Stack development and understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).

• Clearance: Current TS/SCI Clearance is required
• Experience: 10+ years of related experience
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Role requirements: Work is onsite in Crystal City, VA with optional CONUS travel
• Due to US Government Contract Requirements, only US Citizens are eligible for this role

The likely salary range for this position is $212,500 - $287,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
