Job Title: Assistant Operations Manager
Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager supports the Operations Manager in overseeing
the daily operations of a parking facility. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring customer
satisfaction, managing financial transactions, and maintaining the safety and efficiency of the
parking operations. The Assistant Manager also helps in planning and implementing improvements
to enhance service delivery and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Daily Operations: Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the parking garage,
including opening and closing procedures.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise and coordinate the activities of parking attendants, cashiers,
and maintenance staff to ensure efficient operations.
- Facility Maintenance: Monitor the condition of the parking facility, including cleanliness,
equipment functionality, and safety compliance. Report maintenance issues and
coordinate repairs as needed.
- Customer Service: Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and
professionally to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Financial Management:
- Revenue Collection: Oversee the collection and reconciliation of parking fees, ensuring
accurate and secure handling of cash and credit card transactions.
- Reporting: Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, including
revenue summaries and expenditure reports.
- Budget Management: Help manage the facility’s budget, including monitoring expenses and
identifying opportunities for cost savings.
Staff Management:
- Training: Provide training and development for new and existing staff members to ensure
they are knowledgeable and capable in their roles.
- Performance Evaluation: Assist in conducting performance evaluations for staff, providing
feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
- Scheduling: Help in creating and managing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage
during peak and off-peak hours.
Safety and Compliance:
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and
company policies, including safety and environmental standards.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections of the facility and equipment.
Implement corrective actions as necessary to address safety hazards.
- Emergency Response: Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans
and procedures. Coordinate drills and training sessions.
Customer Relations:
- Relationship Management: Foster positive relationships with customers, local businesses,
and community members to enhance the facility’s reputation and customer base.
- Customer Feedback: Collect and analyze customer feedback to identify areas for service
improvement and implement changes accordingly.
Technology and Systems Management:
- Technology Integration: Assist in managing parking management systems, including
automated payment machines, access control systems, and surveillance equipment.
- System Maintenance: Ensure that all technology systems are functioning properly and
coordinate repairs or upgrades as necessary.
- Data Analysis: Analyze operational data to identify trends, monitor performance, and
recommend improvements.
Strategic Planning:
- Operational Improvements: Collaborate with the Parking Garage Manager to develop and
implement strategies for operational improvement and increased efficiency.
- Project Management: Assist in planning and executing special projects, such as facility
upgrades, marketing initiatives, and service expansions.
Marketing and Promotion:
- Promotion: Support marketing efforts to promote the parking facility, including coordinating
with local businesses and community events.
- Customer Programs: Help develop and implement customer loyalty programs and
promotions to attract and retain customers.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Report Generation: Prepare and submit regular reports on operational performance,
financial metrics, and customer feedback.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, maintenance
activities, and staff performance.
Additional Duties:
- Special Projects: Assist the Parking Garage Manager with special projects and assignments
as needed.
- Professional Development: Stay current with industry trends and best practices. Participate
in training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in
business management, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in parking facility management or a related
field, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using
parking management software and basic office software (e.g., MS Office).
- Knowledge: Familiarity with parking facility operations, customer service practices, and
financial management.
- Certifications: Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Certified Parking Professional) are a
plus.
Working Conditions:
- Environment: The Parking Garage Assistant Manager works in a parking facility environment,
which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and dust.
- Physical Demands: The role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and the ability to
lift up to 25 pounds.
- Hours: May include evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on operational needs.
