| Position Description | The Director of the Master of Science in Bioethics (MBE) program has leadership responsibility and accountability for the MBE program by overseeing all strategic and administrative aspects of the program. This includes developing a strategic plan for the MBE and executing that plan by recruiting, managing and mentoring faculty (including conducting annual career conferences for salaried MBE faculty), and monitoring and overseeing resource allocation. The Director of the MBE serves as a member of the Center’s leadership team, attending weekly or biweekly meetings to contribute to Center overall strategy, direction, and implementation. As Faculty in the Center, the Director of the MBE is expected to participate in the life of the Center for Bioethics, attending Center events, and including Center affiliation in your publications, reports and presentations. Oversee all Curricular and administrative elements of the program, including:
Serve as senior faculty in the Foundations sequence, and responsible for oversight of the capstone experience, including the seminar course and student mentor matching. Oversee Recruitment and Admissions, including:
Academic and student advising, including
Academic Policy and Oversight
Financial Oversight – Work with the Center Associate Director of Finance and Operations and the Office for Graduate Education Finance teams to develop and adhere to an annual business plan and budget, set tuition and enrollment targets, and collaborate on funding proposals to support the MBE program and students. The MBE program is expected to be revenue generating for the school with a net margin of approximately 50%. Serve as a member of the HMS Masters Programs Senior Leadership
