ATA Services is looking to hire a Vaccine Purchasing Act (VPA) Reporting Support clerk. This job is part time and is in office, it is NOT remote.
- Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour with weekly pay
- Start Date: 4/6/2026
- End Date: 6/30/2026
- PT – approximately 20 hours per week
- In-office in Albuquerque
The New Mexico Office of Superintendent of Insurance (OSI) administers reporting requirements under the Vaccine Purchasing Act (VPA), which requires health insurers and group health plans to annually report the number of insured children covered in New Mexico. The data collected through this process is used by the New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) to calculate each entity’s share of vaccine purchasing costs under the statewide vaccine purchasing program.
The VPA reporting cycle requires significant coordination with reporting entities, technical assistance during submissions, verification of reported data, and follow-up with organizations that fail to report or submit incomplete information. These activities require timely communication with reporters, research into reporting discrepancies, and coordination between OSI and DOH.
The contractor will provide administrative, research, and coordination support to assist OSI in managing the annual Vaccine Purchasing Act reporting process. The contractor will support communication with reporting entities, assist in addressing reporter inquiries, track reporting submissions, and coordinate follow-up activities to improve reporting compliance and data quality.
The contractor will work under the direction of OSI and coordinate with relevant OSI and DOH staff as necessary.
Customer Service and Reporter Support
The contractor shall assist with responding to inquiries from health insurers, group health plans, and reporting entities related to VPA reporting requirements.
Tasks may include:
- Monitoring designated VPA communication channels (email or other reporting communications)
- Responding to general questions regarding the reporting process, timelines, and submission requirements
- Directing complex policy or legal questions to appropriate OSI staff
- Providing clarification on reporting instructions and submission procedures
- Maintaining professional communication with reporting entities
Research and Issue Resolution
- The contractor shall assist OSI in researching reporting questions, discrepancies, and issues raised by reporters during the submission process.
- Tasks may include:
- Reviewing reported data within the VPA reporting system
- Conducting background research to verify reporter claims regarding data corrections or discrepancies
- Documenting issues related to reporting errors, data amendments, or submission concerns
- Assisting OSI staff in compiling information needed to evaluate reporting corrections or disputes
- Maintaining records of reporter communications and issue resolution activities
Reporting Compliance Monitoring and Follow-Up
- The contractor shall assist OSI in monitoring reporting submissions and proactively following up with entities that have not completed required reporting.
- Tasks may include:
- Tracking submission status of required VPA reports
- Identifying non-reporting entities or incomplete submissions
- Conducting outreach to reporters who have not submitted required reports by established deadlines
- Sending reminders and follow-up communications regarding reporting requirements
- Maintaining tracking logs of outreach and responses from reporters
- Project Coordination and Administrative Support
- The contractor shall provide general project coordination and administrative support related to the VPA reporting process.
Tasks may include:
- Coordinating communications between OSI staff and reporting entities
- Assisting in preparation of communication templates or informational materials
- Maintaining organized records of reporting communications and documentation
- Tracking open questions, data change requests, and follow-up items
- Supporting internal coordination between OSI and DOH related to VPA reporting issues
Qualifications
- Experience providing administrative, coordination, or program support, preferably in a government, public health, insurance, or regulatory setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to respond professionally to inquiries from external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to track, organize, and manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and reporting requirements simultaneously
- Experience maintaining detailed records, tracking logs, or databases related to reporting, compliance, or customer service activities
- Ability to review data for accuracy, identify discrepancies, and document issues clearly and consistently
- Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, word processing tools, and document management systems)
- Ability to follow established procedures while exercising sound judgment when escalating complex or policy‑related questions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality and completeness
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively with OSI and DOH staff
- Availability to work part‑time (approximately 20 hours per week) during the contract period
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting data collection, reporting cycles, or compliance monitoring initiatives
- Familiarity with health insurance, group health plans, or health care reporting requirements
- Experience providing technical assistance or customer support related to online reporting systems or annual submissions
- Prior experience coordinating outreach, reminders, or follow‑up communications to improve reporting compliance
- Knowledge of or experience working with public sector agencies, particularly in health or insurance regulation
- Strong research skills, including the ability to verify information and support issue resolution
