- Define, design, and drive system architecture for services within a Node.js/TypeScript ecosystem
- Build and maintain serverless, event-driven data pipelines for high-volume scientific data
- Ensure software solutions are scalable, maintainable, and secure
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers, conduct code reviews, and elevate coding standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement scientific solutions on a unified data platform
- Improve engineering practices and standards, focusing on observability, reliability, and operational excellence
- Contribute to the design of user interfaces that streamline research and data workflows
- 12+ years of engineering experience, preferably in a SaaS environment
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Advanced expertise in Node.js and React; strong experience in asynchronous processing and data pipelines
- Proven ability to design and implement distributed, event-driven systems and high-performance web applications
- Hands-on experience with large-scale data platforms (Spark, Databricks, Snowflake) and PostgreSQL
- Professional experience with AWS, Kubernetes, RESTful APIs, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)
- Knowledge of Agile software development practices and automated testing frameworks
- Experience leading cross-team initiatives, setting technical direction, and mentoring engineers
- Bonus: experience with Scala, Kafka, Terraform, multi-cloud systems, Life Sciences/R&D data management
- Competitive base salary: $142,445 – $163,811 USD
