About This Position

The Junior Accountant’s responsibilities will include:

Accounts Payable:
  • Process vendor invoices, obtaining proper approval and verification.
  • Complete cheque and online payments, arranging pickup and mail outs with vendors and the property management team.
  • Review and balance the AP sub-ledger as well as clearing vendor statements.

Accounts Receivable:
  • Processing and posting monthly charges and payments by homeowners and tenants.
  • Review and update preauthorized debits as requested from tenants and homeowners.
  • Provide monthly accounts receivable reports to property management team and note any outstanding balances.
General Accounting:
  • Preparation of financial statements and detailed variance analysis.
  • Prepare journal entries and monthly accruals for monthly closing.
  • Assisting with budget creation and updating in Yardi.
  • Prepare HST reconciliation and the related remittances.
  • Assist with preparing year-end tenant operating and realty tax reconciliations.
  • Creating and processing charge back invoices, credit card reconciliations, and employee reimbursements.
  • Ad-hoc duties as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • College Diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; or equivalent experience.
  • Property Management and Yardi Voyager experience is an asset.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.
  • Excellent computer skills, with a proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office Products.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
