About This Position

The Production Shift Lead serves as the primary bridge between upper management and frontline staff, ensuring that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and with high quality. The Production Shift Lead position is a full-time and is scheduled for the 2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday (4-10s) 3:30pm to 2am. This position will oversee two facilities located at 1517 W. Knudsen Drive and 23365 N. 23rd Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85027. This position comes with the following benefits:

KEY DUTIES OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Team Leadership & Supervision: Assigns daily tasks to staff based on skills and
priorities. Monitor performance, provide real-time feedback, and address minor
disciplinary matters or conflicts.
•Production Oversight: Monitor equipment and machinery to ensure smooth
operation. Coordinate with maintenance teams to address equipment malfunctions
promptly to minimize downtime.
•Quality & Safety Compliance: Conduct routine inspections and spot checks to
ensure products meet tolerance specifications. Enforce all safety protocols and
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements to maintain a safe work
environment. Promote adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good
Documentation Practices (GDP).
•Shift Logistics: Manage the handovers between shifts, ensuring critical information
and metrics are accurately reported to the incoming team or senior management.
This includes managing labor schedules, covering absences, and assisting with
workloads as needed.
•Training & Development: Lead the onboarding and technical training for new hires
on specific machinery and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

QUALIFICATIONS:
•High School Diploma or equivalent.
•Two (2) years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
•Five (5) years of manufacturing experience.
•Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles and demonstrated results.
•Experience with extruders (a Plus) and packaging equipment such as pouching,
bottling, and case packing.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
•Strong process control experience
•Excellent interpersonal, teambuilding, and oral/written communication skills
•Demonstrates excellent leadership and time management skills.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
•Knowledge of MSDS, HACCP and GMPs
•Knowledge of working with regulatory agencies (e.g. OSHA, AIB, FDA, EPA)
•Experience in safety administration
•Ability to direct a diverse and multicultural workforce.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
To perform the essential functions of this position, the Production Supervisor must meet the following physical demands:
•Mobility & Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (often 8–10 hours).
•Lifting & Handling: Capable of regularly lifting and moving up to 20 lbs to 50 lbs.
•Manual Dexterity: High level of hand-eye coordination required for operating machinery controls.
•Agility: Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, and twisting.
•Sensory Requirements:
*Vision: Strong close-up, distance, and peripheral vision.
*Hearing: Ability to hear and respond to verbal instructions and machinery
alarms.
•Environmental Resilience: Comfortable working in non-climate-controlled settings with exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, and fumes.
•PPE Compliance: Must be able to wear required PPE for the duration of the shift, including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, and hard hats if necessary.
