About This Position
Cruz Associates Inc. of Yorktown, VA has an open position and is looking for qualified candidates for an Ordnance Inventory Technician I. The job location is at the Naval Weapons Station in Yorktown, VA.
Scope of Performance: This position is that of an Ordnance Inventory Technician I, Naval Weapons Station, Yorktown VA. The primary purpose of this position is to perform duties within the magazine operations department. This position will be fulltime (40 hrs. weekly) Technician shall be subject to physical examinations and certification requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wide range of duties involving receiving, issuing, storing, segregating, selecting, handling, prepping, and inventorying ordnance items
- Responsible for checking outbound shipment requests, reviewing the request and verifying all required information is in place
- Perform a variety of duties that include, but not limited to, operation of energetic equipment, operation of energetic transport vehicles, and storage of energetic material
- Local and regional trucking of hazardous materials
- Maintain an accurate inventory of assets utilizing automated information systems and/or paper logbooks
- Assists fellow departments to streamline flow of materials
- Follow written procedures, guidelines, and standard operating procedures
Education and Experience – Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation and Radiography Physical
- Inventory, warehouse, and/or hands on experience
- Class A/B/C License with Hazmat Endorsement preferred
- Clean driving record
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
- Ability to pass Ammo-18 Certification class
- Ability to work with automated computer systems
- Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel, both military and private industry
