About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout our manufacturing and recycling facility. This role is essential to ensuring a safe, clean, and organized working environment. The Custodian will perform routine cleaning, waste removal, and basic facility upkeep in an industrial setting. The ideal candidate is proactive, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities:

- Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing floors in production areas, break rooms, locker rooms, restrooms, and office spaces.
- Collect and properly dispose of recycling materials, production waste, and general trash in accordance with facility protocols.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and break rooms; replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Conduct general warehouse and equipment cleanup at the end of each shift.
- Ensure the safe and proper use of cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment.
- Monitor cleaning supply inventory and notify supervisors when restocking is needed.
- Perform light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and completing minor repairs.
- Follow all company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Report maintenance concerns, hazards, or safety issues promptly to appropriate personnel.
- Assist in preparing the facility for inspections or audits by maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Support facility shutdowns or deep-cleaning operations as required.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support overall facility operations.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous janitorial, housekeeping, or industrial cleaning experience preferred.
- Familiarity with required PPE, including hard hat, reflective vest, steel-toe boots, ear and eye protection, and utility gloves.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing or recycling environment.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Ability to work independently and follow written/verbal instructions.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Normal work environment is a recycling plant, with exposure to all weather conditions, dirt, high levels of noise, smells/odors and at times exposure to dangerous and/or toxic substances requiring necessary precautions, including PPE.
