The Senior Corporate Counsel (Fixed-Term Contract) will provide senior-level legal support to StarCompliance’s Legal Department during a defined period. This role is responsible for delivering both strategic legal advice and hands-on execution across commercial contracting, compliance, and legal operations.
The successful candidate will operate independently, manage complex legal matters, and support business-critical initiatives while ensuring continuity and efficiency within the Legal function.
- Independently draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including enterprise SaaS contracts, vendor agreements, NDAs, and partnership arrangements
- Provide clear, pragmatic legal advice to business stakeholders across Sales, Product, Finance, and Operations
- Support revenue-generating activities while ensuring appropriate legal risk management
- Manage a high volume of contracts and legal requests, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
- Maintain and improve contract templates, playbooks, and legal processes to enhance efficiency
- Provide support on compliance matters, including data privacy, information security, and regulatory obligations
- Assist with corporate governance, internal policies, and risk management initiatives
- Conduct legal research and provide guidance on relevant legal and regulatory developments
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment between legal requirements and business operations
- Liaise with external counsel where required, ensuring effective and cost-efficient support
- Extensive experience drafting and negotiating enterprise level commercial contracts within a SaaS or technology environment
- Strong understanding of data privacy laws (including GDPR) and regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g. DORA)
- Ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives in a fast-paced environment
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Experience improving legal processes and operational workflows
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent law degree; active license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction
- 6-10+ years of post-qualification experience, including in-house experience in SaaS, RegTech, or a regulated technology environment
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex legal matters and support business priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
Additional Information
This is a fixed-term contract role for a period of approximately 4 months. The successful candidate is expected to quickly integrate into the Legal team, deliver immediate value, and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
