Environmental Specialist at AGEISS Inc. – Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington

We are looking to place a Plant Propagation Specialist on-site at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conducts inventory and monitoring of natural resources on Army training lands.

• Documents current resource conditions to support land-management decisions.

• Assesses land’s capacity to withstand impacts from military training activities.

• Supports ITAM’s mission to integrate military training needs with natural resource stewardship and environmental compliance.

• Helps maintain the quality and realism of Army training environments.

• Works to reduce environmental damage caused by training activities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, or related field

• Sustainable Range and ITAM Program knowledge and experience

• Experience cultivating plants from seed to 6–12-month-old plug (forbs and grasses) in a greenhouse environment

• Knowledge of greenhouse management and maintenance tasks

• Knowledge of South Puget Sound native plants

• Ability to identify and collect native seeds and/or plants from the field

• Knowledge of seed cleaning and processing techniques

• Experience creating and editing maps using ArcGIS Pro software

• Trimble/ArcPad or iPad/Field Maps experience

• Experience in data collection, land management principles, mission training support requirements, and report preparation

• Physical ability to conduct day-long field work across varying terrain and under differing weather conditions

• Strong written and oral communication skills and proficiency with MS Office applications (Word and Excel) is required.

• Successful completion of a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) clearance for a Common Access Card (CAC) is required.

• Individuals already possessing an adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) are preferred as well as prior Air Force experience.

• Motivated self-starters requested.
