We are currently looking for an Engineering Manager in India.As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a cross-functional team responsible for building and maintaining critical products that enable business operations, payments, and administrative tools. You will balance hands-on engineering with coaching, technical decision-making, and team development, shaping the architecture and quality of the platform. This role allows you to directly influence technical excellence, delivery timelines, and team performance in a fast-growing, remote-first environment. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers to ensure the teams output aligns with business goals while fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement. Your leadership will empower engineers to grow their skills, make architectural decisions, and deliver scalable, secure, and reliable software. You will thrive in a dynamic setting where technical rigor, collaboration, and impact go hand in hand.Accountabilities:

• Lead and directly manage a team of 812 engineers, providing coaching, mentorship, and support for career development.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to define priorities, shape product roadmaps, and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Ensure successful delivery of engineering projects, maintaining quality, stability, timelines, and dependencies.
• Drive technical excellence and architecture within the teams scope, promoting best practices and high coding standards.
• Balance hands-on engineering with management responsibilities, contributing to design, coding, and problem-solving.
• Continuously improve team performance using metrics and best practices such as DORA to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and collaboration within the team and across the organization.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience building server-side applications and working with strongly typed languages such as Java.
• Expertise with backend frameworks (e.g., Spring/Spring Boot) and microservices architecture.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and cloud-native, scalable, and reliable solutions.
• Hands-on leadership style with experience managing engineering teams and mentoring individual contributors.
• Proficient in CI/CD practices, automated testing, and secure, well-documented software delivery.
• Familiarity with relational databases, cloud platforms (AWS), and integrations with third-party services.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills, architectural judgment, and a passion for technical excellence.
• Agile development experience, with a focus on delivering value in fast-paced, iterative environments.
