About the Role

We are seeking a CNC Machinist Level 1 to join our team. This entry-level position is perfect for candidates with hands-on experience who enjoy working in a dynamic, manufacturing environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that our parts meet strict quality standards. The primary purpose of this position is to assists with the set-up, operation, and programming of computer numerical control (CNC) equipment used to produce precision parts and instruments. Work performed is basic and performed under direct supervision.

What You’ll Do

• Assists with planning machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters
• Provides input in Interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
• Supports programming machining equipment, including calculating requirements using basic math and trigonometry
• Machines parts to specification using CNC machining equipment
• Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

Requirements:

• Accreditation from a technical school or skilled trades program
• Knowledgeable math and trigonometry skills
• Working knowledge of G&M programming code editing
• Familiarity with reading and interpreting dimensioned blueprints and hand measuring tools
• Familiarity with basic machining setups

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of a CNC machinist apprenticeship program
• 6 months of experience in a similar role
• Prior experience making tool wear, tool, and work offsets

Working Environment and Physical Requirements

• Work is performed in an air-conditioned manufacturing environment
• Work is performed around moving mechanical parts and a moderately high noise level
• Standing, sitting, bending, lifting up to 40 pounds, and performing repetitive motions is required
