About This Position
SUMMARY:
Responsible for the receipt, storage and distribution of all materials delivered to the Materials Management Department by the various vendors. Responsible for the PAR level systems in the Storeroom and throughout the facility, including the adjustment of stock levels. Ordering materials and updating inventory on the computer.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
*Commits to the Mission, Vision and Beliefs of Crete Area Medical Center and consistently demonstrates our Core Values.
*Participates in meetings, committees and lean projects as assigned.
*Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
*Performs service excellence initiatives such as: AIDET, Key Words, Managing up, 10/5 Rule and Service Recovery when applicable.
*Procures approved medical and non-medical supplies and equipment.
*Completes purchase orders by use of phone, mail or fax.
*Checks shipments of supplies and equipment received at the hospital.
*Maintains accuracy between quantities received, purchase orders and packing slips and notifies manager of discrepancies.
*Store delivers and issues supplies and equipment.
*Determines proper destination of non-stock items ordered for other departments and ensures timely delivery to the designated departments.
*Refers items to the Maintenance department when necessary for assembly.
*Fills requisitions for supplies and maintains supplies on the floors.
*Reviews stocked items according to perpetual inventory and determines appropriate reorder quantities.
*Checks stocked items for outdates monthly and cleans storeroom shelving as needed.
*Responsible for the security of storage areas.
*Refers requests for equipment, furnishings, non-stock supplies and other special purchase requests to the Materials Management Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Hospital purchasing and or inventory experience preferred.
