The Multilingual Learner Program Specialist supports the implementation and continuous improvement of KIPP SoCal’s Multilingual Learner Program across grades TK-8. The Multilingual Learner Program Specialist operationalizes the program vision, strengthens instructional practice, supports schools to improve student outcomes for multilingual learners, and ensures schools meet state, federal, and local compliance requirements. The Multilingual Learner Program Specialist plays a key role in supporting curriculum implementation, professional learning, data systems, and family engagement region-wide. All efforts driven by the Multilingual Learner Program Specialist align language development practices with broader academic and operational priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities- Partner closely with the Associate Director of ML Programs to execute key initiatives and priorities for multilingual learners
- Support implementation and ongoing refinement of the EL Master Plan
- Support schools in implementing a comprehensive ELD program, including designated and integrated ELD
- Contribute to the development of systems, tools, and resources that support strong ELD implementation
- Support the design and execution of regional and school-based professional development focused on effective ELD practices
- Collaborate with the Associate Director of Multilingual Learner Programs to conduct school visits, observations, and walkthroughs to strengthen ELD instruction
- Assist teachers and leaders with implementation of curriculum and instructional materials to meet the needs of multilingual learners
- Lead regional administration of the ELPAC including planning, training, scheduling, test security, and accurate and timely completion of all testing requirements
- Assist in developing and maintaining assessment and data systems to monitor multilingual learner progress
- Collect, analyze, and synthesize data to inform instructional decisions and student goal setting
- Lead school-based stakeholders through implementation of processes for identification, placement, progress monitoring, and reclassification of multilingual learners
- Lead and design systems to support schools with English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (required)
- At least 4-6 years of teaching and/or instructional leadership experience
- Active CLEAR or Preliminary Credential strongly preferred
- Experience working with multilingual learners and implementing ELD programs
- Experience administering and coordinating administration for Initial and Summative ELPAC
- Critical thinking skills and creativity in building strong systems and structures to support ELD instruction
- Strong understanding of language acquisition research and effective instructional practices for designated and integrated ELD
- Experience using data to drive instructional decisions and student outcomes
- Ability to support and facilitate professional development and adult learning
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate across teams and schools

- KIPP SoCal Public Schools offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The salary range for this position is $79,200 to $118,800. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint of $99,000 depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budget allocated for this role.
