Duties and Responsibilities – Regional Pharmacy Director
Overview
Performance of duties typical of the Regional Pharmacy Director (RPD) position, together with such other duties and responsibilities from time to time assigned to Employee, whether orally or in writing, by the President, CEO or the Board of Directors of the Company.
Position Summary
The RPD reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and/or President, and is responsible for the company’s business development activities, pharmacy operations, sales and marketing, product and services development, cost and margin control and monthly, quarterly and annual financial goal management. In addition, the RPD directs the growth activities of the organization in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by the President, CEO and the Board of Directors. He/She leads and directs the following functions and/or business units: pharmacy operations, new business coordination, new business development, brand management, product and services offerings. He/She assists the CEO and President in the development of organization policies and goals that cover the functions and/or business units mentioned above.
Responsibilities
• Implement company directives for operations, corporate compliance, sales, marketing and business development.
• Assist in short-term and long-range planning and budget development to support strategic business goals.
- Oversee the pharmacy operations of the pharmacies assigned to His/Her territory
- Facilitate vendor relations with key representatives of products and services necessary for operations
- Participate in routine meetings with corporate staff and other Regional Directors
- Participate in the recruitment, evaluation, interviewing and hiring of key positions within the region of oversight as needed
- Training of new employees, particularly pharmacists, within the region of oversight or others as needed
- Complete scheduled performance evaluations of Pharmacists-in-Charge (PICs) within His/Her region
- Work closely with Corporate Compliance Officer and HR Department to implement policies and procedures established by the these departments
- Work with Accounting, Finance and Billing Departments as needed
Further Duties and Requirements
• Excellent interpersonal, communications, public speaking, and presentation skills.
• Solid working knowledge of budgeting, sales, business development, and strategic planning.
• Ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external constituencies.
- Give suggestions and advise management for making key changes in planning of various issues and business decisions.
- Monitor the quality control of various activities with regards to product manufacturing, etc.
- Act as mediator for conflict resolution among various departments.
- Demonstrate competence in handling team building activities and motivating the teams to give quality performance.
- Directs business activities to achieve budgeted results and other financial criteria, and to preserve the capital funds invested in the enterprise.
- Participates in the development and preparation of short-term and long-range plans and budgets based upon broad organization goals and objectives. Recommends their adoption to the President.
- Directs the development and installation of procedures and controls, to promote communication and adequate information flow, and thereby solidify management control and direction of the enterprise.
- Develop and maintain a sound plan of organization. Establishes policies to insure adequate management development and to provide for capable management succession for those functions/business units falling under his/her responsibility.
- Routine on-site visits for operational evaluation as well as conference and other media driven meetings pertinent to pharmacy operations
- Required attendance at annual leadership meetings with responsibilities in reporting, presenting, organizing and moderating the activities of these meetings as directed.
- Work with other directors from other Mims brand companies and department heads (such as the Corporate Compliance Officer, Procurement Director, Accounting Department and Human Resources Director) to accomplish the overall directives of the organization as a whole.
