Job Description
Position Summary
Delivers all food items and accurately describes them to the guests. Acts as a liaison between the servers, cocktail servers & bartenders, and chefs. Food runners interact with the dining room guests, fellow employees, and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Maintain professional appearance standards as directed in the Company Employee Handbook. • Anticipates and accommodates the needs of guests in a timely manner.
• Provides exceptional service with a positive attitude.
• Ensures the prompt delivery of all food and beverages to guests, describing food items. • Maintain general cleanliness of the entire venue.
• Possesses knowledge of all food and beverage menus, and the Company policies and procedures. • Complies with Department of Health and Company safety and sanitation standards. • Communicates the needs of the guests to other team members, managers, and chefs as needed. • Other duties as assigned.
Sets-Up/Breaks-Down Stations and Performs Side-Work Including:
• Assists with table maintenance and bussing of excess tableware.
• Properly sets up the runner’s station for service and stocks supplies.
• Immediately reports all broken/damaged equipment to management.
Requirements:Training Requirements
• Learns from team members and shares knowledge.
• Participates in pre-service meetings; attends department training sessions.
• Completes Company training for their position
• Current state approved Food Handling Certificate.
• Current state approved Alcohol Safety Certification.
Minimum Education and Qualifications
• One-year previous experience as a runner preferred.
• Previous hospitality experience required.
• Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant/nightclub/lounge.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
• Must be able to stand, lift, and bend for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Role may include job duties or tasks requiring repetitive motion.
• Exposure to hot kitchen elements or cleaning materials.
• Must be able to work and remain focused in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of varying shifts such as days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands: While performing these job duties, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, hear, and reach. The employee is regularly required to sit, walk, and stand for long periods of time (e.g., up to 8 hours or longer) and to don personal protective equipment in response to COVID-19 as may be appropriate and/or required, such as face coverings and gloves.
The employee is required to use dominate hand coordination for simple grasping, pushing/pulling, and fine manipulation. The employee also is required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, kneel, and reach above shoulder level. The employee may be exposed to extreme temperatures, dust, dampness, moving machinery, food allergens, and cleaning agents.
Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, the employee may be required to work long hours and varying schedules to reflect the business needs, which may include overtime, weekends, and holidays. The physical demands described in this job description are representative of those demands that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
