🚀 The Role: Hospital Liaison

The Hospital Liaison serves as the vital bridge between Hurley Medical Center’s clinical teams, external DME vendors, patients, and insurance providers. This role focuses on ensuring safe, efficient, and seamless patient transitions from the acute care setting to home or post-acute care. The Liaison manages the coordination, authorization, and timely delivery of necessary medical equipment


🔍 What We're Looking For

  • A high school diploma or equivalent

  • 2-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting

  • Prior experience with Durable Medical Equipment preferred


🛠 What You’ll Be Doing

  • Process all DME referrals and inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform on-site patient and caregiver education regarding the safe and proper use of prescribed medical equipment.
  • Coordinate the timely delivery and setup of equipment with external vendors directly to the patient's room or home.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert to patients and caregivers regarding equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, and return policies.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility for specific DME based on current Medicare/Medicaid (CMS) guidelines and commercial payer contracts.
  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with hospital staff, acting as the primary point of contact for all DME-related workflows.
  • Frequent walking and standing throughout the medical center
  • Occasional lifting, transporting, or demonstrating of medical equipment (up to 30-50 lbs)
