About This Position
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The S&R Material Handler position verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to safety, quality, housekeeping and productivity standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Work in a safe manner and report unsafe situations.
- Maintain accurate inventory in the warehouse BINS by appropriately utilizing scan gun procedures and participating in weekly cycle counts and regular physical inventory counts.
- Operates stretch wrappers and banders
- Operates stand up fork lift to convey, move or hoist materials
- to the proper departments or areas.
- Safely operate a fork truck in the warehouse to organize inventory, unload incoming shipments and load outgoing shipments.
- Immediately identify and communicate damaged goods.
- Pick and stage customer orders in an efficient manner.
- Receive inbound shipments validating items and quantities as itemized on packing slips, bills of lading, etc utilizing scan gun procedures.
- Provide shipping paperwork to the Logistics Coordinator in a timely fashion.
- Support Customer Service and Warehouse team members by communicating when urgent shipment issues arise.
- Work with designated group/individual to ensure shipments are appropriately scheduled.
- Take initiative to contribute to the positive growth of the department and organization while being a positive and motivating team player.
- Various warehouse duties as assigned.

- Must comply with all safety protocols including proper usage of any/all necessary PPE for this position.
- Good organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work within a diverse community.
- Fork truck experience Sit down/Stand up
- Ability to work independently maintaining high standards.
- Must be able to work overtime as/if needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: list specific education and experience requirements. All position must at least have a HS diploma/GED equivalent.
High School Diploma or equivalent GED
Previous experience working in a Shipping and Receiving
Previous exp with Stand up Fork Lift required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

- Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers
Standing/Walking/Mobility:
- Must be able to stand to operate a stand up lift;; mobility between departments and to attend meeting of employees and managers.

- Must be able to mop, sweep, pick up and carry items

PHYSICAL DIMENSIONS:
Medium Work: Exerting up to (50-70) pounds for force occasionally, and/or up to (20-40) pounds of force frequently, and/or up to (10) pounds of force constantly to move objects.
