About This Position

Job Overview: Works closely with engineering and production teams to ensure that product quality is maintained. Produces, interprets, and reports product quality and test data. Works with quality and process engineers and quality technicians to effect corrective actions and continual improvement. Maintains gage calibration system and quality laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional measurements using common hand gages
  • Perform product tests using laboratory equipment (tensile tester, spectrophotometer, MEK rub tester, melt flow analyzer, density analyzer, moisture analyzer, etc.)
  • Interpret dimensional and laboratory test results and effectively communicate to team
  • Maintain and calibrate gages; manage third-party calibrations; manage gage calibration system
  • Participate in Gage R&R and correlation studies
  • Perform layered process audits (LPAs), 5S audits, and safety audits as assigned
  • Observe all TekModo health and safety protocols
  • Maintain laboratory organization and cleanliness
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years as a quality inspector or technician in a production or laboratory environment
  • High school diploma or GED; associate degree in a technical discipline preferred
  • Experienced in general dimensional gaging using common hand gages (calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.)
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a disciplined team
  • Good math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, squares, square roots, percentages, etc.)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work effectively in Minitab and MS Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Reliable team player
  • Vision correctable to 20/20 or better and normal color vision
  • Perform job duties with a minimum of supervision
  • Plastics experience a plus
  • Automotive industry experience a plus
  • ASQ CQT certification a plus
  • Fluent in English
