About This Position
Circle of Friends Child Development Center is seeking a passionate and experienced Site Director to lead the daily operations and educational excellence of our early childhood program. The Site Director serves as the primary leader on campus, responsible for cultivating a positive workplace culture, supporting staff development, ensuring high-quality instruction, and maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.
This role focuses on people leadership, program quality, and family relationships, ensuring that children, families, and staff experience a safe, supportive, and thriving learning environment.
The Site Director works collaboratively with administrative leadership to ensure that Circle of Friends continues to deliver exceptional early childhood education and community-centered services.
Requirements: Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Staff Development
- Provide leadership and guidance to teaching staff to ensure high-quality early childhood education.
- Conduct staff supervision, coaching, and professional development to support growth and performance.
- Complete staff evaluations, performance reviews, and verification processes.
- Foster a collaborative, positive, and mission-driven team culture.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of qualified educators.
- Oversee daily program operations to ensure smooth and effective functioning of the center.
- Maintain high standards of classroom quality, curriculum implementation, and child development practices.
- Ensure classrooms maintain safe, clean, and developmentally appropriate environments.
- Monitor staff ratios, schedules, and classroom support needs.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable California licensing regulations, policies, and program standards.
- Maintain required documentation and records related to staff, children, and program operations.
- Collaborate with administrative leadership to prepare for inspections, audits, and licensing reviews.
- Implement best practices that support continuous quality improvement.
- Build strong relationships with families to support child development and program participation.
- Address family concerns and ensure responsive communication.
- Lead family engagement initiatives and support a welcoming school community.
- Represent Circle of Friends professionally within the community.
- Support enrollment stability and program sustainability.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and communication with leadership.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Director and administrative team to ensure organizational alignment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing teams in early childhood or educational settings.
- Thorough knowledge of California child care licensing regulations and program standards.
- Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Commitment to providing a safe, nurturing, and high-quality learning environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
- Site Supervisor Permit or higher issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
- Minimum 2–3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a child care or early education setting.
- Experience working with subsidized programs preferred.
- Knowledge of CDE and CDSS program requirements is preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
- Valid California driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
