Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time

Description:

Aquila's Fitness Specialist assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in health/fitness center.

The salary for this position is $46,500, which is $22.36/hour. The start date for the position is as soon as possible after candidate is hired. Candidates must be available to work either of these work schedules on any given day: either 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. or 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday. There is no weekend work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise exercise areas
  • Educate members concerning safe exercise techniques
  • Perform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelines
  • Conduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high risk participants and special populations
  • Aid members - spotting and equipment usage
  • Explain all equipment
  • Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipment
  • Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures
  • Adhere to client’s policies and procedures
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Assist in wellness and fitness promotions and external events
  • Perform daily administrative duties

Qualifications:

  • Active NCCA accredited fitness certification (ACE, NASM, NCCPT, NCSF, AFAA, ACSM or NSCA) - required
  • B.S. in Exercise Physiology or in related health/fitness field (preferred)
  • CPR certification - required
  • 0-1 years experience in supervising adults during exercises
