Door & Frame Fabricator at Apex Industries – Moncton, New Brunswick

Overview

We are currently seeking a Door & Frame Fabricator to join our Door Opening Solutions Group. This is a full-time, day shift position reporting to the Operations Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating hollow metal doors and frames using welding and sheet metal fabrication techniques in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a variety of power tools and equipment, including MIG welders, saws, presses, and punching machines
• Perform light-gauge metal welding and fabrication of doors and frames
• Read and interpret work orders, technical drawings, hardware templates, and production schedules
• Install glass in doors, frames, and borrowed lites
• Handle materials, including occasional heavy lifting
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and safety standards
• Inspect tools and equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and storage
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and communicate them to the supervisor

Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to read and work with both imperial and metric measurements
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Experience with wire feed (MIG) welding is considered an asset
• Proficiency with power tools (e.g., grinders, jig saws, mitre saws)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
• Positive attitude with strong teamwork skills
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills
• High School Diploma or GED
