IT Manager

Location: Carmel, IN & Terre Haute, IN (Hybrid/Travel required between sites)

Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking a versatile and proactive IT Manager to lead the technology strategy and daily operations for our multi-site manufacturing organization. You will be the bridge between our physical plant operations and our digital infrastructure, ensuring that our systems are secure, scalable, and efficient.

This is a "player-coach" role. You will manage high-level projects and vendor relationships while remaining hands-on enough to troubleshoot critical issues and mentor staff.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Operations Management
  • Multi-Site Oversight: Maintain and optimize IT infrastructure for our Carmel, IN corporate office as well as our Terre Haute, IN and Maryville, MO manufacturing facilities.
  • Mixed Environment Support: Manage a diverse ecosystem including Windows servers/desktops, Mac workstations, and a heavy lean toward SaaS/Cloud platforms.
  • Vendor Management: Act as the primary point of contact for Managed Service Providers (MSPs), internet service providers, and hardware vendors.
  • Plant Operations (IIoT): Support industrial connectivity and OT (Operational Technology) security. Ensure the Terre Haute floor can operate or safely shut down during a cyber event to prevent physical damage.

Infrastructure & Resilience Operations

  • Multi-Site Oversight: Maintain and optimize IT infrastructure for our Carmel, IN corporate office as well as our Terre Haute IN, and Maryville, MO manufacturing facilities ensuring high availability and site-to-site redundancy.
  • Business Continuity Planning (BCP): Develop and maintain the BCP to ensure essential business functions continue during and after a disaster. This includes manual workarounds for plant operations if systems fail.
  • Disaster Recovery (DR): Lead the architecture and testing of a comprehensive DR plan.
  • RPO/RTO Management: Define and meet Recovery Point Objectives and Recovery Time Objectives for critical manufacturing and financial systems.
  • Failover Testing: Orchestrate quarterly failover drills between sites and cloud environments.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
  • Implement and manage robust cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST or CIS controls).
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
  • Oversee identity management, endpoint protection, and employee security awareness training.
  • Ensure data integrity and disaster recovery protocols are tested and functional.

Policy, Compliance & Documentation

  • IT Governance: Establish and enforce a library of IT policies (e.g., Acceptable Use, Data Retention, Encryption, and Remote Access).
  • Audit Readiness: Maintain documentation and evidence for internal/external audits, ensuring software licensing and hardware lifecycles are fully transparent.
  • Data Integrity: Ensure backups are immutable and air-gapped to protect against modern encryption-based attacks.
  • Cyber Incident Response (CIRP): Manage and maintain the Cyber Incident Response Plan, defining roles (the "War Room"), escalation paths, and communication protocols.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Finance & Accounting: Partner to manage IT budgeting, software licensing audits, and ERP integrations.
  • Plant Operations: Support Industrial IoT (IIoT) initiatives and ensure shop-floor connectivity is mission-ready 24/7.
  • Human Resources: Streamline the onboarding/offboarding process through automated provisioning and hardware lifecycle management.

Add in section for development and ongoing management of budget for all IT related expenditures

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Experience: 5+ years in IT, with at least 2 years in leadership or management capacity (ideally within a manufacturing environment).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or Microsoft 365 Certified Administrator (preferred).
  • Travel: Ability to travel between Carmel and Terre Haute as needed to support onsite operations.
