As an Assistant Manager you will help manage all aspects of the manufacturing process. You will work with a culturally diverse crew as you supervise production, dispatching and delivery. Working in a Safe Feed/Safe Food certified facility you will be involved in the Quality Control/Quality Assurance process. Duties will vary daily depending on changing business conditions. This is a key management level position within the company with room for advancement.

Responsibilities
- Daily supervision and leadership of the production floor making sure production and quality goals are met
- Drive efficiency and engagement of production staff
- Provide leadership to employees in their daily task
- Manage the plant safety program and lead safety culture, including leading daily safety meetings
- Spare parts inventory management and cycle counts
- Daily monitoring of all samples; finished feed and ingredients. Report any issue and escalate to upper management if necessary
- Assist with logistics, procurement, and dispatching
- Responsible for all samples required for the QA/QC programs
- Manage the preventative maintenance program
- Assist in the Quality Control Process
- Monitors operations processes, identifies opportunities for process improvements
- Manages personnel schedules and monitoring overtime
- Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work hot and cold environments
- Willingness Able to work safely around equipment
- Attention to detail, ability to follow specific protocols and keep accurate records
- Able to easily adapt to changing conditions
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs
- Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
