We’re on a mission to become the leading English & Writing specialist in the region.

We’re looking for a General Manager (Malaysia / Indonesia) who is commercial, hands-on, structured, and obsessed with execution. You will lead the Malaysia business while building and scaling Indonesia, owning growth, operations, and profitability across both markets while protecting a premium parent experience.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for a strong operator to lead our businesses in Malaysia and Indonesia.

This role is responsible for:

• driving student and revenue growth
• improving conversion and retention
• building strong operating systems
• leading the local teams
• owning market-level profitability and execution

In the near term, the role will focus on:

• stabilising and growing Malaysia
• building Indonesia in a hands-on way
• working closely with Singapore HQ to scale both markets well

Key Responsibilities:

A) Drive Growth & Revenue (Commercial Ownership)

• Own Malaysia and Indonesia growth targets (student numbers, revenue) with a weekly and monthly execution cadence
• Improve funnel performance across both markets (lead quality, lead → trial booked, cost per trial, trial → enrol conversion)
• Build growth channels beyond paid ads: partnerships, parent communities, referrals, schools, and consultants
• Execute workshops and seasonal campaigns as conversion levers into regular classes

B) Run Operations & Parent Experience (Premium Delivery)

• Own parent experience end-to-end across both markets: response speed, clarity, follow-ups, issue resolution, and retention
• Build and maintain the operating system: tracking, SOPs, weekly reporting, and process hygiene
• Manage day-to-day coordination across enrolment ops, teachers, scheduling, classes, and trials
• Ensure consistent premium execution while adapting to local market realities

C) Build, Lead & Coach the Team

• Hire, train, and manage local team members across Malaysia and Indonesia
• Coach team members to improve performance, ownership, and execution standards
• Forecast capacity: class optimisation, teacher allocation, and when to open/close classes
• Maintain high teaching quality in partnership with the Senior Teacher / Academic Team

D) P&L Ownership

• Own Malaysia and Indonesia P&L: budgeting, cost control, pricing hygiene, and monthly forecasting
• Manage vendor relationships (marketing agencies, tools, ops vendors)
• Ensure compliance / admin hygiene across payments, invoicing, documentation, and data protection

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, or related field (Master’s is a bonus)
• 5+ years experience in a leadership role with clear ownership of outcomes (growth/ops/P&L preferred)
• Strong commercial instincts: can run conversion funnels, numbers, and execution rhythm
• Experience in education/edtech/enrichment is a plus
• Strong working proficiency in English
• Based in Kuala Lumpur preferred, or Jakarta, with willingness to travel regularly across Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore

• Ops excellence: SOP building, tracking discipline, escalation handling, parent comms
• People leadership: hiring, coaching, accountability, performance management
• Analytical rigour: can interpret metrics weekly and make fast decisions
• Stakeholder management: works well with SG HQ and cross-functional teams

Commitment Period: Full-Time
Working Hours:
4 weekdays + 1 weekend: 9am - 6pm
