Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sales Engineer, Gist Ads in the United States.
This role sits at the intersection of AdTech engineering, partner integration, and technical solution design, supporting the deployment of AI-powered advertising experiences across premium digital environments. You will act as a deep technical advisor to publisher ad operations teams, SSP/DSP partners, and platform engineers, ensuring integrations are properly scoped, implemented, and optimized for performance. Rather than focusing on traditional sales cycles, this position is centered on hands-on technical problem solving, real-time troubleshooting, and architecture design across complex advertising ecosystems. You will collaborate closely with engineering and business development teams to bridge product capabilities with real-world partner infrastructure. The environment is fast-moving and highly technical, requiring strong ownership and the ability to operate across multiple systems and stakeholders. This is a key role in shaping how next-generation AI-driven ad products are integrated and scaled across the digital advertising supply chain.
- Lead end-to-end technical integrations with publisher partners, SSPs, DSPs, GAM, and other ad tech platforms, from scoping through QA and deployment.
- Conduct deep technical discovery sessions with partner engineering and ad ops teams to design integration approaches tailored to their infrastructure.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact during integrations, troubleshooting issues and coordinating resolution with internal engineering teams.
- Support implementation of AI-contextual ad units across web, app, and emerging digital environments.
- Evaluate technical feasibility of new partnerships, including API compatibility, data flows, and integration complexity.
- Collaborate with business development teams to support deal structuring through technical scoping and solution design.
- Develop and maintain integration documentation, API guides, tag specifications, and onboarding resources.
- Provide structured feedback from live integrations to product and engineering teams to inform roadmap and product improvements.
- Occasionally support pre-sales technical activities such as RFPs, proof-of-concepts, and solution design.
- 5–9 years of experience in AdTech, programmatic advertising, digital media, or related technical roles such as Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Ad Ops, or Technical Account Management.
- Strong understanding of the programmatic ecosystem, including OpenRTB, Prebid.js, SSP/DSP integrations, and ad servers such as Google Ad Manager (GAM/DFP).
- Hands-on experience working across publisher, SSP, DSP, or agency trading desk environments.
- Ability to read and interpret code at a functional level (e.g., JavaScript, Python) and debug tag implementations or API calls.
- Strong understanding of ad quality, brand safety, viewability, and third-party verification tools (e.g., IAS, MOAT, DoubleVerify).
- Experience integrating with major SSPs and/or DSPs within the digital advertising ecosystem.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfort operating in fast-paced, early-stage environments where processes and products are still evolving.
- Bonus: experience with AI-driven advertising environments, contextual targeting, or emerging ad formats.
- Competitive base salary ranging from $150,000 to $175,000, plus equity participation
- Remote/hybrid flexibility with presence in major U.S. markets (LA, NYC, Chicago, Austin, and others)
- Opportunity to work at the forefront of AI-powered advertising technology
- High-impact role shaping next-generation ad integration and monetization systems
- Collaborative and innovative startup environment
- Professional growth and development opportunities
- Travel opportunities (~25–30%) for partner engagements and industry events
- Comprehensive exposure to advanced AdTech ecosystems and strategic partnerships
