Job Title: Prep Cook

Starting From: $17.00/hr-$20.00/hr + tips! (Depending on Experience)

Location: NEP Cafe - Irvine

Prep Cook Roles and Responsibilities:

• Follow detailed prep lists and recipe packets provided by chefs to plan daily duties.
• Label and stock all ingredients on shelves in an organized manner for easy access during cooking.
• Accurately measure ingredients and seasonings according to specified recipes.
• Prepare cooking ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, dicing, and slicing fruits, vegetables, meats, and seafood.
• Execute basic cooking techniques like making stocks, broths, and sauces, and braising and roasting meats.
• Prepare a variety of simple dishes including salads, appetizers, entrees, and side dishes.
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash regularly, etc.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of food items.
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly, following food safety guidelines, and maintaining proper labeling and rotation.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation, sanitizing surfaces, including floor, tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, freezers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment, taking out trash regularly and occasionally perform restroom deep cleaning.
• Adhere to nutrition and sanitation guidelines to maintain food quality and safety standards.
• Perform any other kitchen duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

• Food Handler Card Training Offered with paid training hours if needed
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
