About This Position

Wage Range: $23.25 $37.20 per hour
15% Per Diem pay.
Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. - Greets and rooms patients per organizational standards. Takes patient history.
- Performs basic and routine vision screening examinations and records visual acuity.
- Educates patients on eye care, contact lens care and in preparation for surgical procedures.
- Manages and administers eye medications as indicated per provider orders.
- Restocks and cleans exam rooms after patient care.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Current JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification
- 1 year of experience working in an optometry or ophthalmology practice
- General knowledge of anatomy, pharmacology, medical terminology, sterilization techniques and basic eye care.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Previous Certified Ophthalmic Assistant experience
