Position Summary
The Safety Coordinator I reports to the Safety Manager and plays a critical role in conducting jobsite evaluations, delivering safety training, managing documentation, and promoting best practices across departments. This position combines field inspections with office-based administrative duties to ensure company-wide safety compliance and awareness.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform safety evaluations at multiple jobsites and ensure immediate correction of deficiencies

• Enforce OSHA 1926 & 1910 regulations and company safety protocols

• Conduct and coordinate safety training, including:

  • New employee orientations

  • Fall protection

  • Forklift and aerial lift training

  • Hazard communication and PPE

• Maintain training logs and certifications for all employees and subcontractors

• Conduct accident investigations and root cause analysis

• Facilitate safety stand-downs and toolbox talks

• Track and inspect fire extinguishers, PPE, and safety equipment

• Purchase and distribute safety gear and supplies

• Maintain accurate safety documentation and reports

• Attend department meetings and provide updates on safety performance

• Ensure new hires complete orientation before starting in the field

Qualifications

• Associate degree, technical school, or trade program required

• 0–3 years of experience in a safety-related role

• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred

• Prior safety experience in construction or general industry preferred

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

• Basic understanding of construction safety standards

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and document management

• Physically able to climb ladders, lift 50+ lbs., and work in extreme weather

Success Metrics

• Complete a minimum of 5 jobsite evaluations per month with 100% compliance

• Conduct timely and effective safety trainings and toolbox talks

• File accurate injury and inspection reports within 48 hours

• Ensure all training certifications are properly documented

• Maintain up-to-date inspections of fire extinguishers and AEDs

• Communicate safety concerns professionally with field and management teams

Working Conditions

• Fieldwork and office-based responsibilities

• Exposure to heat and outdoor conditions

• Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

• Must be able to work in a dog-friendly environment

• Subject to random drug and alcohol testing per company and regulatory requirements
