About the role

As the Senior Director, Infrastructure & DevOps you will play a key role leading a team that will in execute the infrastructure vision for all platforms. You will ensure alignment across multiple teams for short, medium and long-term execution of plans.

What you'll do

Leadership & Culture

  • Lead, coach, and develop a highly technical team, including:
    • Regular 1:1s, feedback, and growth conversations
    • Building technical leadership, ownership, and accountability
    • Supporting hiring and team scaling
  • Foster a positive, collaborative culture of trust and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate complex technical ideas clearly to business / non‑technical stakeholders.

Infrastructure & Platform Strategy

  • Define and evolve our cloud infrastructure strategy across AWS and Azure, using innovative cloud‑native and serverless technologies where appropriate.
  • Rationalize and simplify existing technologies into a cohesive, scalable, and cost‑effective platform.
  • Own infrastructure architecture, standards, and best practices with a strong security and reliability mindset.

Reliability, Security & DevOps

  • Establish and maintain uptime, SLAs, and operational readiness, including tooling, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Lead improvements in infrastructure reliability, availability, and disaster recovery.
  • Provide executive oversight for security controls, access management, and incident response, including on‑call accountability.
  • Ensure strong operational hygiene (backups, access controls, auditability) while continuously improving how we work.
  • Partner closely with development teams to improve CI/CD, automation, container orchestration, and deployment practices.

What you'll bring

  • 7+ years owning and leading infrastructure and DevOps design in modern cloud environments
  • 5+ years in a senior technical leadership role, managing teams of 5+ engineers
  • Deep experience with AWS and Azure, including architecture, security, and cost management
  • Strong background in:
    • Infrastructure architecture and design
    • Container orchestration (Docker, auto‑scaling)
    • CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform)
    • Monitoring, reliability, and operational tooling
  • Experience establishing and improving SLAs, uptime, and platform resilience
  • Proven ability to collaborate with technical and non‑technical partners
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Cloud‑related technical certifications (or equivalent practical experience)
  • A coaching mindset and you enjoy helping people grow and succeed

The pay range for this role is:
150,000 - 185,000 CAD per year(Whitby, Canada)
