This role is a high-impact in-house legal position focused on leading complex intellectual property and commercial litigation in a cutting-edge technology environment. You will serve as a key legal strategist, guiding dispute resolution efforts across patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets while supporting broader corporate legal needs. Operating at the intersection of law, engineering, and innovation, you will collaborate closely with technical teams and business leaders to manage risk and protect critical assets. The role involves overseeing external counsel, shaping litigation strategy, and ensuring alignment with business objectives in fast-moving and highly technical matters. You will also contribute to cross-functional initiatives, including regulatory, contractual, and M&A-related legal support. This is a highly visible position where your decisions directly influence innovation protection and enterprise risk management.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead and manage all aspects of intellectual property litigation, including patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret disputes, as well as pre-litigation strategy and risk assessment.
  • Direct and oversee outside counsel throughout the full litigation lifecycle, including discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and resolution strategy.
  • Develop and execute litigation strategies aligned with business priorities and ensure efficient, cost-effective outcomes.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across engineering, product, and leadership teams to provide legal guidance on technical and commercial matters.
  • Support broader legal initiatives, including commercial disputes, regulatory matters, M&A transactions, and enforcement actions.
  • Exercise independent judgment in complex and ambiguous legal situations while managing multiple high-stakes workstreams.
  • Ensure consistent communication and alignment between internal teams and external legal partners.
Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in the United States (or eligibility as a U.S. Person under export control regulations).
  • 5+ years of experience focused on intellectual property litigation.
  • Strong experience managing litigation strategy, case development, and external counsel relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal advocacy skills with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases, assess risk, and develop practical legal solutions.
  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, technology-driven environment.
  • Preferred: prior in-house experience in a technology or aerospace company, judicial clerkship, or trial experience.
  • Preferred: technical background or engineering-related academic experience.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to work closely with engineering and business teams.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package including base salary ranging from $173,500 to $238,500 annually, plus equity (RSUs).
  • Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions.
  • Employee stock purchase plan (ESPP) for long-term financial participation.
  • Generous paid time off and flexible work arrangements.
  • Opportunity to work on groundbreaking technology in advanced aerospace and mobility innovation.
  • Exposure to high-impact legal work at the intersection of law, engineering, and emerging technologies.
  • Inclusive, mission-driven environment focused on innovation and long-term impact.
