Overview
This position supports Electric Boat’s Supply Chain and Logistics activities associated with the Electric Boat Transportation Planning supporting all classes pertaining to Submarine Construction. Your responsibilities would encompass freight and transportation management, material tracking, expediting, and scheduling, metric reporting, project management, import/export and freight forwarding, air and ocean transportation. You will be quoting, scheduling, and planning vendor inbound, 3rd party, and project cargo in line with purchase order and production schedules. Additionally, you would experience significant interaction with various Internal and External customers such as the following: Purchasing, EB Vendor Base, Contracted Carriers, EB Program Offices, Operations, Contracts, Planning Departments, Engineering, Purchasing, Planning Yard, Newport News Ship Building, and EB Off-Site Departments. The responsibilities of this role may expand to other special projects as programs develop. You would require daily use of various reports and computer driven systems. *This position is located in our Kings Highway Facility Groton, CT

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Highschool Diploma or G.E.D. equivalency
- 4+ years experience in Planning, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Inventory Control
- Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management or project planning in a similar industry that encompasses planning routes, analyzing data for cost savings, resolving shipment issues, and ensuring compliance with regulations, all while collaborating with internal teams and external partners to optimize costs and service
- Experience in Microsoft Office products; Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Bachleor's degree
- Freight and Transportation Management Experience
- Familiarity with ITAR and EAR99 Regulations
- Freight Forwarding and/or Import & Export Experience
- HAZMAT & Dangerous Goods Shipping IAW IATA and 49 CFR
- Military experience or Shipyard/Shipbuilding experience
- Experience with any of the following platforms: Oracle, MRPII (ERP)
