Remote Senior Database Engineer
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Database Engineer - REMOTE. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring application uptime and enhancing performance through innovative solutions and proactive monitoring. The Senior Database Engineer will act as a mentor while collaborating with delivery teams to drive technology advancements. Accountabilities- Design and maintain secure, high-availability database environments across Azure and on-prem platforms.
- Develop automated processes using SQL, PowerShell, and Infrastructure-as-Code to streamline operations.
- Deliver impactful solutions using SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and Azure Data Factory.
- Enhance CI/CD practices for database artifacts and ensure smooth deployments.
- Monitor and optimize database performance using SQL Server Profiler and Query Store.
- Provide expert support for complex issues affecting system performance.
- Mentor junior engineers and guide delivery teams in best practices.
- Collaborate with architects to define technology roadmaps and drive innovation.
- Identify and implement opportunities for system performance improvements.
- Foster collaboration and share knowledge with the engineering community.
- Bachelors degree in a related technical or business discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a database engineer with at least 2 years in CI/CD.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2019 and newer) and high availability strategies.
- Proficiency in T-SQL development and performance tuning.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across various database tools and RDBMS.
- Experience with Cloud Platforms and automation using PowerShell.
- Familiarity with advanced SQL language concepts and Oracle databases is a plus.
- Experience in working with large datasets and data warehousing.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and performance tools.
- Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent certification is preferred.
