About This Position
Position Summary
The Data Analyst Intern will assist the data team in transforming raw data into actionable insights to support business decisions. This internship provides hands-on experience with data analysis, ETL processes, and workflow automation while developing technical skills in SQL, Python, and data visualization. The intern will learn to clean data, build basic reports, assist with process optimization, and gain practical experience in a professional data environment.
Duties and responsibilities
- Refine, standardize, and validate data to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Implement data quality frameworks and documentation
- Execute SQL queries to extract and analyze data
- Create interactive dashboards and visualizations that effectively communicate insights
- Present findings to stakeholders in clear, actionable formats
- Build and maintain automation workflows to streamline repetitive processes
- Write Python scripts/build Power Automate workflows to automate data processing and analytical tasks
- Shadow team members during stakeholder meetings to understand business requirements
- Assist in identifying process improvement opportunities
- Support cross-departmental data requests
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Information Systems or related field
- Demonstrated programming experience through coursework, personal projects, or hackathons
- Understanding of database platforms, concepts and SQL
- Experience with data analysis or visualization projects
Technical Skills
- Strong programming fundamentals in at least one language (Python preferred)
- Proficiency with SQL for data querying and manipulation
- Ability to apply logical thinking to data problems
- Experience working with data analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) a plus
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)

Working conditions
- Primarily office-based or remote work environment with standard business hours
- Typically a 3-month position with possibility of extension or conversion to full-time
- May include participation in team meetings, training sessions, and project presentations
