About the Role
We are looking for a Purchasing Manager to lead our sourcing, inventory, and purchasing activities. This role ensures materials are available to support production while managing costs, supplier relationships, and internal coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage material needs based on production schedules
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and controls
- Source and negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best cost and quality
- Build and manage strong supplier relationships
- Ensure on-time delivery of materials and resolve issues quickly
- Identify and manage supply chain risks and develop backup plans
- Partner with operations, engineering, finance, and sales teams
- Manage purchasing budgets and support cost-saving initiatives
- Track key metrics (delivery performance, inventory levels, cost savings)
- Use and improve ERP/MRP systems and purchasing processes
- Support system automation and digital tools (such as EDI)
- Lead and develop purchasing and warehouse staff
- Ensure compliance with company policies and contracts
- Drive continuous improvement across purchasing processes
Qualifications
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- 2-year degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 5–7 years of purchasing experience in manufacturing preferred
