This role sits at the center of organizational strategy and people leadership, shaping how teams are built, developed, and supported across a fast-growing, mission-driven environment. You will act as a key advisor to senior leadership, helping define and evolve people strategy while ensuring strong execution across the full employee lifecycle. The position combines strategic HR leadership with hands-on operational ownership, spanning talent acquisition, performance management, engagement, and retention. You will lead and develop a small People team while influencing leadership effectiveness across the organization. The environment is dynamic and growth-oriented, requiring both structure and adaptability as the company scales. This is a high-impact role where your work directly shapes culture, leadership quality, and organizational performance.
- Own and evolve the end-to-end employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, development, engagement, and retention strategies.
- Act as a strategic HR business partner to senior leadership, advising on organizational design, talent strategy, and change management.
- Coach and support leaders at all levels to improve leadership effectiveness, team performance, and alignment with organizational values.
- Design, refine, and continuously improve core people systems, including performance, rewards, engagement, and HRIS tools.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small People team to ensure strong execution and high-impact delivery.
- Strengthen organizational clarity, structure, and communication pathways across a distributed workforce.
- Drive data-informed decision-making across all people-related programs and initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with multi-state employment laws and HR best practices in a distributed environment.
- 8+ years of experience in People, HR, or Culture roles, with at least 3+ years in a leadership/management capacity.
- Proven experience in small to mid-sized, high-growth, or evolving organizations requiring strong adaptability and influence.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align people strategy with broader organizational objectives.
- Experience coaching senior leaders on talent management, organizational design, and performance topics.
- Hands-on ownership of multiple core HR functions such as performance management, compensation, talent acquisition, or organizational development.
- Strong understanding of distributed or remote-first team dynamics and culture-building practices.
- Familiarity with HR systems and tools such as Gusto, Rippling, Greenhouse, or Lattice.
- Working knowledge of multi-state employment law and HR compliance requirements.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available).
