Position Summary
We are seeking a Marketing Specialist to assist in the development of comprehensive marketing strategies and help manage the company's global tradeshow and events program, from initial planning to on-site execution and post-event analysis. This role involves collaboration across sales, product and marketing teams to ensure that all events align with overall business objectives and drive lead generation and brand awareness. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and skilled at project management, with the ability to manage multiple events and tasks simultaneously.
Reporting directly to the Senior Global Marketing Manager, the Marketing Specialist is responsible for coordinating and executing comprehensive marketing strategies and events that enhance brand visibility and generate high-quality leads. This individual will help manage the end-to-end logistics of trade shows, conferences, and other events while also contributing to broader marketing efforts, such as digital campaigns and content creation. This is a cross-functional role that requires collaboration with sales, design, and other internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Tradeshow and event management
- Planning and coordination: Own the planning and execution timeline for all national and regional trade shows, managing logistics from initial strategy through post-event analysis.
- Budget management: Assist with budget development, diligently track expenses, process invoices, and reconcile budgets for each event.
- Vendor relations: Serve as the primary point of contact with external vendors, including show organizers, exhibit houses, and promotional item suppliers.
- Logistics: Coordinate all show services, including booth rental, electrical, internet, and audio/visual equipment. Manage the shipping of materials and oversee booth setup and teardown.
- Internal communication: Prepare and distribute pre-show briefs for internal staff, ensuring attendees are informed of schedules, logistics, and talking points.
- Lead management: Coordinate the lead capture strategy at events (e.g., lead retrieval apps) and ensure timely upload of leads to the CRM for sales follow-up.
- Analysis and reporting: Track attendance, collect feedback, and prepare post-event reports summarizing key metrics, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
Marketing support
- Content creation: Assist with the creation and distribution of marketing collateral, including videos, sell sheets, brochures, presentations, and digital assets.
- Digital campaigns: Support digital marketing efforts through tasks such as bulletin/email campaigns, social media management, and website updates.
- Provide essential support for company websites including content management, maintaining and updating digital assets (images, videos, photos, PDFs), content creation and SEO.
- Inventory management: Maintain an organized inventory of marketing materials and promotional merchandise.
- Sales collaboration: Work closely with the product and sales teams to create comprehensive marketing blueprints, calendars and marketing materials.
- Content collaboration: Work with product management teams and external agency partners to ensure tradeshow exhibits, presentations, marketing collateral, and social media posts—integrated marketing campaigns. Organize and maintain a library of marketing materials, ensuring sales teams have easy access to the latest, on-brand content for various needs.
Qualifications
Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Experience: 5-7 years of experience in a B2B product marketing and event planning, with demonstrated success in tradeshow coordination.
- Collaboration: This is a highly cross-functional role that requires strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with various departments, from sales to creative.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Technical proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
- Project management: The ability to plan, organize, and execute a high volume of projects with competing priorities is critical.
- Attention to detail: This role requires meticulous organizational skills, as even minor logistical details can impact the success of a complex event.
- Adaptability: The ability to think on your feet and solve problems calmly in a fast-paced, live-event environment is crucial. A proactive, resourceful, and self-motivated approach to identifying and solving problems.
- Physical requirements: Ability to travel and occasionally lift and carry equipment for event setups.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 20%
Preferred:
- MBA a plus
- Brand/Product Management experience
- Experience with engineered fire protection systems, detection/control technologies, or building systems integration
- Multilingual proficiency (especially Spanish, French, Portuguese, Mandarin, Cantonese) is a strong asset
