HEAD RACQUETS PROFESSIONAL

Reports To: Director of Racquet Sports

Department: Racquet Sports

Status Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Salary: Hourly rate plus percentage of lessons, clinics and program instruction

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Head Racquets Professional is responsible for overseeing all racquets programming, instruction, and operations and will actively participate in all racquet sports activities at Mission Hills Country Club. This individual will provide high-quality instruction to members of all ages and skill levels, manage junior and adult racquet sports programs, and assist in the overall growth and promotion of the club's racquet sports offerings. The Head Racquets Professional is expected to uphold the highest level of professionalism, customer service, and leadership in all racquet sports-related activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Development & Instruction:

Develop, organize, and implement comprehensive racquets programs for juniors and adults, including clinics, private lessons, leagues, and special events.
Provide individual and group instruction to players of all ages and abilities, focusing on skill development, technique, and strategy.
Organize and oversee club racquets tournaments, exhibitions, and social events to promote member engagement.

Staff & Member Relations:

Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members and guests.
Collaborate with club leadership to enhance racquets program offerings and integrate with other club activities.

Operations & Facility Management:

Manage the scheduling of lessons, clinics, and court reservations.
Maintain and oversee the upkeep of racquets facilities, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and functionality.

OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED:

In addition to the primary responsibilities outlined in this position description, employees may be required to perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor. These duties will be within the scope of the employee's position and will align with the needs of the Club. The assignment of additional tasks ensures operational efficiency and supports the overall goals of the department. Employees are expected to be flexible and adaptable in fulfilling these responsibilities as directed.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

RSPA or PTR certification.

COMPETENCIES:

Strong playing ability with a background in competitive tennis preferred.
Ability to currently play 4.0+ pickleball and tennis.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience managing racquets events, leagues, and tournaments.
Knowledge of court maintenance and facility management.
Proficiency in using scheduling and club management software.
CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
Proficiency in racquet stringing and equipment maintenance is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing event needs.
Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays based on event schedule.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
