About This Position

Lead Mechanic

The Lead (Mechanic) reports to the Supervisor of the team to which the Lead is assigned.
The Lead is responsible for the following:
1. Daily operation over his/her respective area.
2. Coordinate with the Supervisor for the scheduling and assignment of daily job tasks.
3. Work with the assigned crew to ensure that projects are completed with quality work, on time and within budget.
4. Ensure that the customer's and FAA procedure are followed.
5. Ensure that all identified maintenance discrepancies are documented.
6. Perform troubleshooting and assist in determining the proper course of maintenance action when a discrepancy is found.
7. Monitor personnel for attendance and perform evaluation of crewmembers
8. Keep a safe and clean workplace at all times. Recommend improvement to the Supervisor that are needed to increase performance, quality, etc.
9. Report any problems that affect projects to the Supervisor.
10. Ensure that personnel are following instructions and are performing tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
11. Ensure that waste materials, oils, fluids etc. are handled correctly.
12. Provide oversight of subordinate crewmembers and assist the Supervisor in identifying the need for training or remedial training.
13. Provide on-the-job training (OJT) as necessary for subordinate crewmembers.
14. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate. A&P License.
Minimum 4 years of experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to give verbal and written direction to assigned staff.
