Exus is seeking a Project Development Intern for our Summer 2026 intern project based out of our Albuquerque, NM office. This is a paid full-time position. Anticipated duration will be approximately 8 weeks from June to August 2026. Duration, start and end dates are flexible to each candidate’s school schedule. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the VP of Western Development while collaborating with Development Managers on specific development projects across New Mexico.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include supporting the development team out of the Albuquerque office on several projects across multiple New Mexico counties, including:

• Support development staff of Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage land use and environmental permitting efforts.
• Support Development Project budgeting and Forecasting
• Internal team coordination and communication.
• Community engagement material development.
• Local government public meeting support.
• Participate in stakeholder processes for renewable energy projects.
• Research ongoing utility tariff rule making and compiling summaries for the larger development team.
• Analyze publicly available utility reports to identify areas for future renewable development across New Mexico.

Preferred Qualifications/Requirements

• Junior or Senior or a Graduate student, currently enrolled and attending an accredited college or university, working towards a degree in business, engineering, environmental science or other related focus.
• Ability to work from the Exus Albuquerque Office for the duration of the internship.
• Motivated, detail orientated person with an interest in renewable energy development.
• Proficient in standard MS Office applications, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to walk in rugged terrain and various climate conditions (for site visits).
• Knowledge of GIS or Solar PV modeling software.
