The Controller will lead the full accounting function in a fast-growing SaaS environment, ensuring accurate financial reporting, operational rigor, and audit readiness. This role drives the development of scalable systems, controls, and workflows, while partnering with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making. You will oversee all aspects of accounting, including close processes, revenue recognition, cash management, statutory compliance, and automation initiatives. The position requires a hands-on approach with attention to detail, coupled with the ability to think strategically about long-term organizational growth. The Controller will also mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. This is a high-visibility role with direct impact on financial integrity, scalability, and enterprise-wide operations.
Accountabilities:- Lead end-to-end accounting operations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with consistency and rigor.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP, including complex areas such as revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, and technical accounting.
- Enhance audit readiness and serve as the primary liaison for external audits, strengthening internal controls and documentation.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to evolve the chart of accounts, reporting structures, and accounting policies.
- Oversee cash management, accounts payable/receivable, billing, taxes, statutory compliance, and payroll processes.
- Drive improvements in accounting systems, workflows, and automation to support operational scalability and reduce manual effort.
- Manage international subsidiary accounting and consolidation into the US parent entity.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- Significant experience leading accounting functions in high-growth or SaaS companies, including experience with scale-up operations.
- Proven expertise in US GAAP, revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, and audit management.
- Strong leadership and team development skills; experience mentoring and scaling accounting teams.
- Hands-on operational experience with a focus on accuracy, process improvement, and internal controls.
- Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Familiarity with accounting systems, financial reporting tools, and automation technologies.
- Experience with international accounting and consolidation is a plus.
