About This Position

Position Summary:

The Parts Delivery Driver will drive company vehicles to pick up and deliver parts. He or she will transport products from local parts sources and deliver them to our dealerships and customers. Delivery Drivers are responsible for understanding and conducting basic maintenance and inspections on their company vehicles regularly. Daily inspections should include checking fluid levels, tires, lights, and adding fuel. The Parts Delivery Driver is also responsible for ensuring compliance with all state commercial vehicles laws. He or she is responsible for unloading trucks of any product each night and keep accurate daily logs. Additionally, he or she is expected to help in the warehouse as assigned. Most importantly all drivers are expected to follow all road laws and always stay within the legal speed limit in a safe manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures deliveries are accurate by verifying all part numbers listed on the delivery invoice and/or packing slip
  • Ensures that all payment is collected upon delivery of product
  • Accepts cash or checks as necessary
  • Perform pre-trip inspection of company vehicle daily, including fluid levels, tire pressure and tire wear, internal and external professional appearance, warning indicators proper function of lights and signals, fuel level, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all state commercial vehicle laws
  • Assists in all warehouses related activities as assigned
  • Greet customers in a prompt respectful and friendly manner
  • Provide the parts and/or accessories in a timely manner
  • Ensure deliveries are promptly received and notify internal or external customers accordingly
  • Pick up and deliver parts and equipment to customers, wholesale accounts, and vendors
  • Keep an accurate log of daily
  • Requests recipients’ signature on each delivery entry
  • Unloads truck each night
  • Turns in all paperwork and undelivered parts daily
  • Handles basic maintenance of the truck including filling tanks with gas, checking fluid levels (oil, coolant, steering fluid, brake fluid, etc.), keeping it clean, and making sure required inspections are performed
  • Understands that the customer is the source of all revenue and should be treated with utmost respect
  • Perform other duties, including warehouse duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in related field preferred
  • Unrestricted drivers license and a clean driving record
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work in a team environment
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Genuine and helpful attitude with a friendly demeanor
  • Impressive work ethic
  • Neat clean and professional appearance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles
  • Able to do physical actions including bending, kneeling, squatting twisting and lifting of heavy objects as needed

Additional Requirements:

  • Must wear steel-toed boots
  • Must wear hearing and eye protection when needed
  • Ability to travel long distances by car

Work Environment:

  • Work is primarily conducted on the road, you will also work in a mix of indoor and outdoor environments
  • Be prepared to work and drive in inclement weather
